Unsheltered Voices Project

U2C3 Social Justice
At U2C3, we are passionate about making a difference in our community through service and volunteerism. One of the ways we put this passion into action is through our Social Justice Outreach Team. Every 4th Sunday of the month, we provide sandwiches to our unsheltered friends and neighbors, and we need your help to make it happen!
Making sandwich bags is a fun and easy activity that can be done as a family, with a spouse, or as an individual. We can provide all the supplies and support you need, and you can make as many sandwich bags as you want. If you’re interested, just let us know and we’ll arrange a time for you to pick up the supplies and drop off the finished product. It’s a great way to make a positive impact in your community while spending quality time with your loved ones.
In addition to sandwiches, we also accept contributions of food items like bread, peanut butter, jelly, healthy snacks, and sturdy fruits like apples and oranges. Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase food and related supplies. You can drop off items on Sundays in the collection basket in front of the office in the foyer.
We also participate in Tacos Not Bombs, a community initiative that provides a hot meal and bagged “to-go” lunches for the homeless and hungry every Sunday in Artesian Park. If you’re interested in getting involved with this effort or have any questions, please contact Joann Raskin at raskinjoann@gmail.com.
All members and friends of U2C3 are welcome to join the efforts of the Social Justice Outreach Team. Together, we can make a difference in our community and bring hope to those in need. We look forward to working with you!
