Worship at a Unitarian Universalist congregation is an opportunity to connect with others and deepen your own sense of purpose. Each congregation has its own unique style, ranging from contemporary to traditional. However, all services share certain elements:

  • A welcoming message
  • Lighting of the flaming chalice, a symbol of our faith
  • A multigenerational segment, such as a story for all ages
  • Music of various styles
  • Time for sharing joys and concerns
  • Meditation or prayer
  • Readings from ancient or contemporary sources
  • A sermon by a professional minister, guest speaker, or congregation member
  • An offering to support the congregation or community justice work

Occasionally, worship services may include holiday celebrations, plays, musical performances, child dedications, or coming-of-age ceremonies. Childcare and learning programs are also available during Sunday services. For more information, contact Hanna Kiely or see some of our offerings here.
