Corpus Christi, TX On Saturday, October 14th, at 4 p.m., 1,500 pumpkins of all sizes, shapes, and colors will be delivered to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Corpus Christi. Dozens of volunteers will gather to set them up on pallets to prepare for the opening day. Sunday, October 15th, will be the first day of our Pumpkin Patch sales, and anyone can get the first pick of pumpkins from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. This pumpkin patch will be open every single day throughout the whole month from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. and is scheduled to end on November 2nd. Families and individuals are encouraged to come take photos at our hay bale photo booth. There will be attendees to assist in purchasing and answering questions. Proceeds from the sales go toward supporting our church’s mission to grow in spirit and faith to inspire acts of radical inclusion, justice, and lovingkindness.

The pumpkins are sourced from Pumpkins USA, where sustainable agricultural practices are exercised alongside the Navajo Nation in New Mexico. They implement crop rotation, varying crops from year to year to limit pest problems, thereby reducing the need for insecticides. They use cover crops to prevent soil erosion and suppress weeds. This limits the need for the use of herbicides. Additionally, soil-mapping technology is used, which enables the use of the optimal amount of seed and fertilizer. All Pumpkin Patch products are non-GMO. These responsible agricultural practices mean that we provide a great product that has less of an impact on the environment.
