The Coastal Alliance to Protect our Environment is a collaboration of a dozen local organizations founded in October 2018. The mission is “to protect our environment for our quality of life and future generations”. It has fought against the rampant industrial buildout surrounding Corpus Christi Bay, overburdening communities such as Hillcrest, Gregory, and Ingleside with compounding pollution rates.

Neil McQueen is an environmental consultant and Co-Chair of the Coastal Bend Surfrider Foundation. As a lifelong surfer, he deeply understands the need for clean environments to enjoy. Over the years he has fought for public beach access, reducing single-use plastic, and more strict regulations and accountability for large polluters alongside CAPE.
