Pick your Passover; Interfaith, Feminist, Liberation, and Seinfeld

Although Passover is a Jewish holiday, people of any religion or no religion can and do take part in the Passover service (seder). The Exodus story, which is the basis of the holiday, carries lessons and concepts that various people interpret in different ways. Modern haggadahs (the text used in the Passover seder) deal with matters of liberation, freedom, and inclusion. We will hear about a sample of haggadahs that demonstrate the evolution of the Passover seder.

Vaughn Westheimer was born and raised in Houston and has lived in Corpus Christi since 1983.  He is a veteran of dozens of Passover seders, resulting in consumption of lots of bowls of matzo ball soup.  He is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, majoring in math, and The University of Houston School of Law.  Now he is a mostly (but not completely) retired attorney.  He writes poetry and is starting to write short stories.  Vaughn is MWC – Married With . . . Cats.
