She holds degrees in Human Development & Family Studies from Auburn University in Alabama, Theological Studies and Ethics from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, CA, and Applied Developmental Psychology from the University of New Orleans in Louisiana. She is trained in various healthy sexuality curricula and enjoys creating curriculum for specialized populations, such as adolescents who have been adjudicated for sexual offenses and parents of sexual abuse survivors. She once ran a competitive race for City Council in Opelika, AL which forced a run-off. She is most proud of her activism work in creating safe spaces such as founding chapters of various gay-straight alliance groups, including PFLAG and others, which are still active to this day in small towns. She also started a daily protest movement in Auburn, AL during the summer of George Floyd that is still going daily to this day. This unique protest community is celebrating 5-years of consistent presence this coming June. She is excited to start some OWL (Our Whole Lives – the UU healthy sex education curriculum) groups here locally.
