The Nature of Local Government – with an emphasis on the issues of the unhoused (homeless) and seawater desalination.
This sermon will discuss the need for our city government to better reflect the needs and desires of the public. Examples of concern regarding this are the City’s pursuit of seawater desalination, the City’s refusal to fund a low barrier shelter for the unhoused population, Council members’ opposition to the adoption of impact fees to slow the urban sprawl, and the slow pace street construction. Jim will also include ideas on how congregation members can get more involved.
