About the Service
Leigh didn’t exactly follow meditation directions in a class 40 years ago in this church. Instead of concentrating on a candle or mantrum to clear his mind, he focused for a period on one or two words of the “Model Prayer” (which traditional Christians call the Lord’s Prayer) to see what might come to him. He found an exercise with little specifically Christian in theology, but much in the pattern of Thomas Jefferson’s The Morals of Jesus which depicted a sublime teacher rather than a Divine Savior. As an organist exploring musical settings of the Prayer over centuries, Leigh noticed patterns between the seven petitions which suggest a complex mathematical structure.

About Our Speaker
Leigh was a member of this church in the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, and recently rejoined us. He worked at KZTV-Channel 10 for 37 years, filming and reporting the news and making commercials. Outside of television, he made four amateur movies featuring young people in the UU RE classes.
