Dia de los Muertos

This Sunday, guest speaker Mayra Zamora will be speaking on the true history of Dia de los Muertos, or Day of the Dead. We will learn about the true history of this holiday, the significance of the altar, and her personal views on the modernization of this cultural celebration. We invite you to participate in the building of the altar this Sunday to celebrate those who have passed. See below for more information.

Mayra Zamora is a Chicana Artist, Muralist, and Educator from Corpus Christi, Texas. Zamora was born in Austin and raised in Tivoli, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s Degree in Art and Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from Texas A&M University at Corpus Christi. Zamora is a freelance artist allowing her to work with local non-profit organizations.
