About the Service:
Easter is the most important holiday on the Christian calendar. Some modern scholars have characterized it as the second chapter of Jesus’ legacy, the first being his ministry on earth. But hiding in plane sight, an even newer interpretation, a third chapter, is working its way into the light.

About our Speaker:
Kirk Newport was born in New Orleans and raised in California. After graduating from San Francisco State University, he served three years in the United States Army before building a career in hospital clinical laboratories and teaching clinical lab science at Del Mar College. A dedicated member of U2C3 since 1996, Kirk has served multiple terms on the Board, sung in the choir, and tended the church grounds with quiet devotion. He is an amateur cellist who enjoys most outdoor activities. Originally raised in the Methodist Church, Kirk now practices Buddhism, embodying the UU values of Pluralism, Interdependence, and Spiritual Transformation. He is the proud father of one daughter, three stepsons, and multiple grandchildren.
